“Past” Solo exhibit at ETNIA on Friday, April 15, 2016 in Atenas, Alajuela Costa Rica

Over a two week period eleven original works came to life at the “Jungle Studio” to be exhibited at ETNIA in Atenas, Alajuela, Costa Rica. The opening was on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 5-10pm. Camilo Garavito is a great new friend and the owner of ETNIA. He featured a “LIVE” band with local musicians along with tapas and homemade sangria through opening night for all whom attended. ETNIA became one of my favorite spots on my first journey to Atenas in November 2015 when I completed the newest “Nature Series” mural, “Moment #16″ in the mathematics classroom with the students at New Summit Academy. I’m honored to announce that all eleven paintings have found new homes in Atenas. It was amazing to be there to create, exhibit, and spend time with the community!

29 San Diego artists present their non-figurative work in an all-abstracts show. Without figurative grounding, vibrations, rhythms and energies in each work emerge. The movement of the painter’s brush stroke comes into focus… paint is pushed or pulled across each canvas differently in every piece. Light through a lens is captured without knowing subject or place. Colors stand boldly; lines are drawn; patterns repeat.

In San Diego, we are lucky to have a diverse set of habitats: Beach, Chaparral, Mountains, Desert, and more. This selection of artwork by San Diego artists is a celebration of the diversity not only of San Diego flora, but also of vegetation outside of our local environment. With this selection of contemporary scenes of plant life, we observe and capture visions of bountiful greenery.

“Past” 2016 biennial winter gala on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 7–11pm at the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts

I am very honored to have “Fractal #2″ included in the art exhibit at the 2016 biennial winter gala at the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts. The Longwood Center of Visual Arts invites you to its 2016 biennial winter gala on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 7–11pm at the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts in historic downtown Farmville, Virginia. The LCVA’s widely anticipated winter gala is the best attended event of its kind in the region. All proceeds support the LCVA’s community outreach programs.

The theme of this year’s gala, Southern Gothic, pays homage to the beauty, mystery and charm of sultry nighttime southern gardens.
The creative black-tie fundraiser will feature a silent auction, live music and dancing to benefit the LCVA’s programs, which include exhibitions, community programming and outreach activities in area schools.
