Past "Disrobed" exhibit at Gallery 5 in Richmond, Va.

Posted on March 5, 2007

“Disrobed” at Gallery 5 in Richmond Va. was an amazing evening….. The show featured various artists from the Richmond area and all around. The Nude art exhibition brought a little flavor to your eyes and offered diverse visuals of human nature for you to absorb. I had four pieces in this show and look forward to working with Amanda Robinson and all associated with this event and beyond… Stop in and check out the spot…… Gallery5 provides an opportunity to exhibit an impressive array of works, with the space to house over 50 artists in one showing. This space showcases a different world of art, a place with an ever-changing soundtrack. Gallery5 encompasses what so many Richmond artists are looking for. “It is truly different: the art, the music, the whole feel.” Gallery 5 showcases the underground art of Richmond and the risqué work that intimidates. They want the dirty, the witty, the ever-changing, the respected, the disrespected, the opinionated, the diverse, the unwilling, the unintentional, and the beautiful work of Richmond.

Past exhibit "The Richard Weisman Collection"- "Picasso to POP" in Charlottesville, Va.

Posted on November 1, 2006

Richard Weisman brought the “ALI” series which was painted by Andy Warhol to kick off his new book titled, “Picasso to POP”. Chris Wilmer who is a big part of the Charlottesville, Virginia art scene worked with Weisman to bring the show through Charlottesville. There were 5 local Artists asked to be part of the exhibit and I was lucky enough to be one of them along with my great friend Leo Charre. The show was amazing and to meet Richard Weisman and hang out was super cool, to think, he hung out with Andy Warhol for years and owns more of his original work than anyone in the world!!

"ABSOLUT Artini" mural painting in Charlottesville, Va.

Posted on June 22, 2006

ABSOLUT Artini had nine area restaurants/bars participating by creating “arty” martinis (artinis) to be entered into a competition. For one month , with steady support from print ads and solid promotion of posters, table tents, and postcards, the restaurants/bars will highlight their artinis for patrons to taste and compare. Also, nine local, living artists will each create original artwork in the tradition of the ABSOLUT ads.The artists include: Russell U. Richards, Fleming Cunningham Lunsford, Sharon Shapiro, Charles Peale, Lisa Beane, Monty Montgomery, Michael Fitts, Steve Taylor, Sean Samohey. These will be used for the print campaign and each will become a limited edition postcard quality art “coaster.” The art coasters will be sold at the participating restaurants (one artwork per restaurant) as small art and be used as a raffle ticket to be entered into the drawing for a GRAND PRIZE. The intention is to create an infectious buzz in Charlottesville with people wanting to compare artinis and collect coasters. The party for 400-500 people was filled with artinis, food, fabulous décor, amazing entertainment, ground-breaking art and dancing all night to the best music today! Here’s a shot of the Mural that I did for the Event!!!
