Past “MONTY MANIA” Children’s exhibit at The Longwood Center for the Visual Arts in the Main Street Gallery in Historic Downtown Farmville, Virginia

Thanks so much to all the super talented children, to everyone at the LCVA, and to Prince Edward County Elementary School art teachers Joy Utzinger and Carol Edmonson for all their hard work installing the display in the Main Street Gallery at the LCVA. “Monty Mania” features the work of over 900 elementary students based on the abstract murals of Virginia native and Longwood University alumnus, Monty Montgomery ’98.

The Longwood Center for the Visual Arts is proud and honored to present its annual Start with Art, Learn for Life: The Annual Area Youth Art Exhibition and Take a Closer Look: Photographs from ART Kids. The opening reception was on Sunday, February 19 from 2-4 pm at LCVA. The works will remain on view in LCVA’s Lower Level until March 26, 2017. LCVA would like to thank the very generous support of Southside Electric Cooperative, the Walter J. Payne Foundation, the TR June H. Guthrie Trust, and the Rock Foundation for helping to make this exhibition possible for the students.
